Education Support Project

Education Support Project

Across underserved and remote communities in North Shewa Zone and Hararge Zone, many children face limited access to basic school materials—affecting attendance, participation, and learning outcomes.

Wings of Healing implemented an integrated education support program to ensure children can attend school with dignity, confidence, and the tools they need to succeed.

Education continued. Hope continued.

Project Overview

This initiative supports 3,000 children, including:

  • 1,500 school-age children
  • 1,000 adolescent girls

The project improves access to learning materials, promotes inclusion, and supports overall child wellbeing.

Stories of Change

Back in the Classroom

With access to basic materials, children returned to school prepared and motivated to learn.

Girls Staying in School

Sanitary pad support helped adolescent girls attend school consistently, reducing absenteeism and supporting dignity and confidence.

“Now I can focus on learning without missing classes.” – Beneficiary

Project Approach

  • Direct engagement with schools
  • Distribution of materials on-site
  • Focus on inclusion, dignity, and participation
  • Integrated support combining education and wellbeing

Looking Ahead

While this project has reached thousands, many children in remote and underserved areas still lack access to basic educational support.

With continued support, Wings of Healing aims to expand this model to reach more communities and strengthen access to education across regions.

  • Expand school support programs
  • Reach more remote and underserved children
  • Continue supporting girls’ education and inclusion

“We reached thousands. Many more are still waiting.”
