Government Officials Visit Cancer Care House and Praise Its Unique Impact

We were honored to welcome government officials from the Sidama Region for a visit to the Cancer Care House, a supportive space dedicated to assisting women undergoing cancer treatment.

The visitors included representatives from the Sidama Finance Bureau, Sidama Health Bureau, Hawassa Finance Office, and Hawassa Health Office.

During the visit, the officials toured the facility and observed the services and support being provided to cancer patients throughout their treatment journey. The team spent time learning about the care environment, patient support system, and the holistic approach designed to provide comfort and dignity to women receiving cancer treatment away from their homes and families.

Following the tour, the officials expressed their admiration and appreciation for the initiative, describing the Cancer Care House as a unique and remarkable model of care.

“We have never seen a facility like this before,” shared the officials, noting the importance of creating supportive environments for patients facing difficult treatment journeys.

The visitors also encouraged Wings of Healing to continue and expand the initiative, recognizing the Cancer Care House as an impactful model that brings hope, comfort, and compassionate support to vulnerable patients.

The visit served as a meaningful moment of recognition and encouragement for the ongoing work being carried out at the care house. It also highlighted the growing importance of patient-centered approaches that go beyond medical treatment and address the emotional and social needs of individuals living with cancer.

The Cancer Care Ho

use remains a place where care extends beyond medicine and where healing is strengthened through compassion, dignity, and human connection.

“Creating healing spaces for patients is not only about treatment. It is about restoring hope and humanity.”
