January cervical cancer month, through HPV awareness
As part of the celebration of January Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, Wings of Healing Ethiopia organized an HPV vaccine awareness campaign within school communities to strengthen awareness and promote cervical cancer prevention among young people and the wider community.

Through its ongoing health education initiatives aimed at combating cervical cancer, Wings of Healing Ethiopia conducted awareness sessions focused on educating students, parents, and school communities about the importance of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, one of the most effective tools for preventing cervical cancer.
The campaign targeted students aged 9–14 years, the recommended age group for HPV vaccination, and was implemented across five schools. The initiative aimed to provide accurate information about HPV vaccination, address misconceptions, and encourage informed decision-making among students and their families.
The health education activities created an important platform for increasing awareness within school communities and improving understanding of the role of HPV vaccination in protecting future generations from cervical cancer. The sessions also encouraged discussions around prevention, early action, and the importance of access to reliable health information.
Through engaging students and school communities, the campaign contributed to strengthening community awareness and motivating participants to gain a better understanding of HPV vaccination and its long-term health benefits.

Wings of Healing Ethiopia remains committed to empowering communities through education and preventive healthcare initiatives that support the fight against cervical cancer and create healthier futures for women and girls.
